Download & install

Download Deplao for Windows, macOS or Linux; system requirements, opening the installer when your OS shows a warning, updating, and where your data lives.

Deplao is a desktop app: you install it on your computer, sign in to your accounts there, and your data is stored on that same machine.

System requirements

Operating system Installer
Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) .exe
macOS: Apple Silicon (M1 or later) .dmg (the arm64 build)
macOS: Intel .dmg
Ubuntu / Linux .AppImage (runs on any distro) or a .deb package
  • At least 4 GB of RAM (8 GB or more recommended).
  • Plenty of free disk space: messages, photos and videos are stored on your machine and grow over time (you can move the data folder to another drive in Settings → Storage (Cài đặt → Lưu trữ)).
  • A stable Internet connection to receive messages in real time.

Download the installer

Get the latest version from the Download page, or browse every release on GitHub Releases. Pick the right file for your machine:

Your machine File to download
Windows 10 / 11 Deplao-Setup-<version>.exe
macOS Apple Silicon (M1 or later) Deplao-<version>-arm64.dmg
macOS Intel Deplao-<version>.dmg
Ubuntu / Linux Deplao-<version>.AppImage or Deplao_<version>_amd64.deb

Install and open Deplao for the first time

Note

Deplao isn't code-signed yet, so your operating system may show a warning the first time you open the installer. Follow the steps for your system below.

Windows (.exe)

When you open the .exe file, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC":

  1. Click More info.
  2. Choose Run anyway.

macOS (.dmg)

When you open the .dmg file, macOS may say it "cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer".

Option 1:

  1. Right-click the file → choose Open.
  2. Click Open again.

Option 2 (if it's still blocked):

  1. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  2. Scroll down to the Security section.
  3. Click Open Anyway.

Ubuntu / Linux (.AppImage, .deb)

The .AppImage runs on any distro; you only need to make it executable:

bash
chmod +x Deplao-*.AppImage
./Deplao-*.AppImage
Tip

If you see the error "FUSE: fuse2 not available", install libfuse2 with sudo apt install libfuse2.

Or install the .deb package:

bash
sudo dpkg -i Deplao_*_amd64.deb

Once the app is open, start by adding your accounts: Zalo, Facebook, Telegram or Telegram Bot.

Running in the background and quitting

  • The × button on the title bar only hides the app in the system tray: it keeps running and keeps receiving messages.
  • To quit completely: right-click the Deplao icon in the system tray → Quit completely (Thoát hoàn toàn).
  • If you use workflows or campaigns, or employees connect to the Boss machine, keep the app running 24/7 on a machine with stable power and Internet. Shutting the computer down or losing the Internet connection interrupts running automations.

Updating to a new version

  • Your current version is shown next to the Deplao name in the top-left corner (or under Settings → Version log (Cài đặt → Log phiên bản)).
  • When a new version is out, a New v… button appears next to the version number: click it to update. Once the new version has downloaded, the button changes to Ready v… (Sẵn sàng v…); click it to install.
  • You can also download the latest installer from the Download page. See what changed in each version in the Changelog.
Note

A cloud backup created by a newer version of Deplao is locked when you try to restore it with an older version: update the app before restoring.

Where is my data stored?

  • By default, all messages, photos, videos and files live in the app's data folder (Windows: %AppData%\Deplao).
  • With many accounts and busy groups sharing photos and videos, this folder can grow to several GB or even tens of GB within a few months, and reinstalling Windows wipes everything on drive C. It's a good idea to move it to another drive with Settings → Storage → Choose another folder (Cài đặt → Lưu trữ → Chọn thư mục khác).
  • After a reinstall, if the Storage page reports Folder mismatch detected (Phát hiện không khớp thư mục), click Choose another folder and point it back to your old folder to recover your data.
  • Changing or reinstalling your computer: turn on cloud backup & data sync so you can restore onto the new machine.

For more on the data folder and data security, see Security & data.

Building from source

Deplao is open source (babyvibe/deplao-builder on GitHub). To build it yourself you need:

  • Windows 10/11, macOS (Apple Silicon / Intel) or Ubuntu 20.04+.
  • Node.js 18+ (recommended) and npm 9+.
bash
# Install dependencies
npm install --legacy-peer-deps

# Run in development mode
npm run dev

# Build the app
npm run production

The app stores its data in a local SQLite database; you can change the storage folder in Settings.
